Day 29- An Author that you completely avoid/hate wont read
None that I really can think of. Unless Shakespeare counts. I have never liked any of his stuff. I mean, the stories are good or whatever, but reading them is impossible. I’m pretty sure I slept through the classes we had to read “Julius Caesar”
Day 19- A Book that changed your mind about a particular subject (non-fiction)
Again. Can’t even think of a non-fiction book I have read in the past. Or anything that changed my mind about anything…
Kayleigh mentioned “Night” that was like half non-fiction I think. Based on true events. Or maybe it was non-fiction. I really just don’t know. And that didn’t change my mind about anything. I straight up already have the strongest feeling about the Holocaust and that just fueled them. I have mental images in my head that I will never get out because of that book. Man. don’t get me started on the holocaust.
Day 17- Book turned movie and completely desecrated
hmmm. I kind of want to say The Golden Compass, but I wouldn’t say it was desecrated. That’s an intense word. I actually enjoy the movie for what it is, but it got a pretty bad wrap.
The books are so controversial that they really toned down a lot of Philip Pullman’s messages and symbolism and everything in the film. Of course they had to leave a lot of stuff out (as films always do) but they left off with a really retarded ending to make way for a sequel that will never come.
Also, Twilight. That movie was terrible. But I really dont care about it, so I talked about The Golden Compass.
Day 15- Favorite book dealing with foreign culture
Memoirs of a Geisha
I read this a while ago, and need to reread it, but I remember really being interested in the culture of Geishas. It was fascinating. But since it was also fiction, it had a really intriguing storyline. Yeah. I like that book a lot. Adding to my list of rereads.
